About the Guild

         
The Guild has both male and female members.

             The Guild’s workshop is open on Mondays and Wednesdays (public holidays excepted) commencing at 9.00am and finishing about 3pm.

  •               a number of pieces of larger equipment are located at the temporary workshop.

  •             The Guild has a band saw mill which is used t break down logs or our use.

  •   at the workshop members assist with the preparation of toys and other items associated with the Guild’s activities

  •               members can also use the equipment to assist them with their private projects

  •               special interest groups and training courses are operated from time to time

  •   a $3 donation is charged on each visit to help cover routine maintenance costs and refreshments.

 

            The Guild issues a monthly Newsletter which is forwarded to all members by Email or post.

             The Guild holds a formal meeting usually on the first Saturday of the month (this may be varied to accommodate specific events such as the Working With Wood Show or Public Holidays):

  •   usually held at our temporary workshop but sometimes at an alternative venue which will be advised.

  •   starts as an informal social get together at 12 noon with a lunch. A BBQ is available if required.

  •   the formal meeting commences at 1.00 pm and is usually followed by show and tell, a demonstration or a talk with a finishing time around 3pm

  •    members who wish to come only for the meeting need to arrive by 1.00 pm.

Membership of the Guild is open to anyone who shares our aims.The cost of joining the Guild is $75 for the first year, which includes your name badge, and $60 per year thereafter ( July-June).

  • or at the temporary workshop on Mondays or Wednesdays.

After lodgement an Application for Membership will be considered by the Executive Committee after 4 weeks.During this period the Applicant has full membership rights of the Guild.
